Here are pictures of my herbs and two of my cats. I'm bored and thought I would share. When I got back from Marco Island, my basil plants had doubled in size. *grin* I'm so flipping excited.

Here is the last half of my recap from this event:
Part 2 of A Night With The Stars )
John's favorite shows: House and Family Guy. Had he not been an actor he would have been in the military.
Caitlin: Had she not been an actor, she would have been a school teacher, she said she was a geek in school.
Ewa De La Cruz (Vienna) : was a nurse in Norway?, she would be an eye doctor if she wasn't an actor
Jake's favorite show: the Simpson's- he admitted at one point he would go into a depression if he missed a week
Van's fave show was the same as Jake's I believe, he was also a geek in a school full of drama "geeks" (I thought that was funny)
Trent said he was an uber geek. Comic books, dungeon's and dragons, etc. He would do doctor's without borders if he wasn't an actor
Billy said that he was a wrestler that got injured and placed in an acting class. He joked that in school he would have beat up Trent (he was a cool kid)
Austin- joked around most of the time while he finished his picture which was being auctioned off. He talked about all the jobs he had and that he wasn't good at any of them. He brought a lot of life to the panel questions.
Alex (Hunter on ATWT)- said he was a band geek in high school.
Jeff's favorite show: House and one that I can't recall. *laughing*
Crystal Hunt (ex-Lizzie, Guiding Light- Stacy, One Life To Live) got the second highest SAT scores in her high school which was a medical designed school (all kids that went there had aspirations to do something in the field of medicine)- this made her one of the cool kids since the higher your grades were the cooler you were. She wanted to be a heart doctor. She started on GL when she was 17.
That's all I can remember right now. Maybe Twinnie can fill in the blanks for me *hopeful look*
The auctions lasted so long. I can't even begin to tell you what all got sold. I can tell you that an As The World Turns tour with Van and Jake went for like 6000 dollars. Meanwhile a Guiding Light tour with Caitlin and Jeff barely went for a 1000. It was pretty sad actually. Jake's painting went for 1100 dollars. Van's went for 375. Big difference. John sold one of Coop's leather jackets to Jeff. Jeff looked really great in it. Jake auctioned off a plaid shirt "Noah" wore. Van auctioned off two shirts. Beth E. auctioned off one of Harley's jackets and Gus's jacket as well. Thorsten (Zach, All My Children) bought the one Gus wore and it didn't fit him at all! Billy bought the Harley jacket and let the model that Beth dragged up there keep it. *grin* All together now...AWWWW! Thorsten also bought his own painting and gave it back to the person he painted it with. (One of the autistic young men) Again...AWWWW! The auctions dragged on quite a while. It got boring and late, but I know they made some serious cash.
Now for all the pictures. The first one I got was John. He stuck his hand out and introduced himself. I told him that I was at the event last year. He smiled at me. God he has a nice smile. *sigh* Anyway. I asked him for a picture and he graciously granted one. I joked that I had to get a lot of him because I was one of the only representatives for the Cooplee fans. He nearly choked on his drink laughing. He was drinking beer at that point I think. The picture turned out really nice and he leaned over my shoulder to look at it with me. God I love digital cameras. *laughing* I was very insecure about my face (I know, I know, get over it) but he was really kind and told me the picture looked great. I got one with Adam's camera too. He told me that he looked forward to seeing me at the bar.
Next was Van. *la sigh* He is much hotter in person if that is possible. Van took two pictures with me as well and he smells really nice. I swear all the pretty points in those pictures went to him. Jenny you picked a lovely guy to love. *grin*
After that I went to Nicholas (Zac). He said that he would only take a picture if I bought some tickets (this was said in a mock serious voice). I showed him my stack of tickets and he grinned, wrapped his arm around me and more pictures were taken. He is very hot, nice and Adam has a crush. *laughing*
Billy was my next victim. He grinned at me when I asked for a picture and said in a sweet voice, "Can we take a prom picture? I miss prom. It was such a great time." Now who could say no to that? *laughing* So we had our prom picture taken. He was king and I was the court jester *laughing* I actually think it turned out really well.
I went to Jake next. He is love. Just a very cool guy. Once again two pictures were taken. By this point I was calling Adam my hottie photographer. *laughing*
Last on my list was Caitlin. Once again she was very sweet. She also said she looked forward to seeing me and Adam at the bar. *grin*
After that it was time to change and head to the bar...

A Night With the Stars Part 1 )
I don't know how to really break this up, but I will start with the negative that happened this weekend. Because then we can work up to the really amazing stuff. And trust me, from my perspective, the good far, far outweighed the bad. This weekend was bad for technology and me.
  • When we got to the hotel, Adam wanted to swim, but me being the way I am (and the fact that I didn't bring a swimsuit) declined to go into the pool. I instead decided to lay out a bit and listen to my Zune. It was great the sun was shining, hardly a cloud in the blue sky, the water (which I had put my legs into) was the perfect temperature, it was wonderful- then disaster- as I was getting up, my Zune went into the water. It is dead. I'm holding a memorial service for it Wednesday. All are welcome to attend.
  • My digital camera hit the floor at the bar. I'm just relieved that didn't break. I would have been completely lost had that happened. Batteries didn't last that long...at all. It was lucky that Adam and I thought to buy some before we went down to Marco Island. If we hadn't, there would be no pretty pictures to show and share.
That was really the worst things that happened to me. Not so bad, huh? Now lets get started with the recap of the Night with The Stars... I'm going to try and remember all I can...
As I said in the previous post, Adam and I did sit with Caitlin. We felt horrible though. Only five people paid to sit with her. *sigh* On the flip side I got to talk with her a lot and as Adam said, speak my mind quite freely. (I really have a big mouth that gets away from me without my brain saying it can speak. I need to work on that) She was very nice. I really enjoyed my time with her, but I'll get to that in a minute. I'm going to try and paint a picture for you. You could really skip the first paragraph under this one if you don't want to know the seating arrangement. *laughing*
I have to say that I didn't quite like the set up this year. Last year, I was really close to the stage, this year we were in the back of the VIP section. It could of been worse I know but it made getting pictures really difficult. My Twinnie and her sister were at John's table which was to the right of Caitlin's. The one right in front of us was Van's and in front of him was Jake. To Jake's right was Billy M. (Casey, As the World Turns) and Nicholas G. (Zac, As the World Turns). From there I couldn't really see. I know that Beth E. (ex-Harley, Guiding Light) had a table in the center of the room. The dinner was a buffet, which was pretty good. And that is all I'm going to say about that. *laughing* Because it's even boring me!
The no-shows this year were Grant A. (Phillip, Guiding Light) and Michael O' Leary (Rick, Guiding Light). I have to be honest and say that it didn't really bother me that they weren't there. I feel bad for anyone that was counting on seeing them though. They were the only ones I really noticed were missing. John has a new girlfriend. She was at all the events and so was Caitlin's boyfriend. We found out that Caitlin actually met him in Vegas and is surprised that a long term relationship grew from that. *laughing* Vegas isn't notorious for long term love affairs. *grin*
The rumor "going around" is that Guiding Light might be picked up by a new network. The emcee hinted around to that fact at the beginning of the dinner. What that means for what is happening on the show now, I don't know. After she made the announcement she directed our attention to a "survey" that was on each of the tables. Basically, it was asking questions about the show, our viewing habits and if we would stop watching CBS if the show really did go off the air. Honestly, I didn't have the heart to write on there that most have already stopped watching, hence the fact they are being cancelled. *sigh* Once her speech was done, she introduced the actors starting with the All My Children stars. Guiding Light was last and John missed his intro. He was late to the dinner. But showed up before anything major went on. I do have to admit that I didn't get to really see him much even though he was sitting at the next table. But Twinnie was at his table so hopefully she has some interesting things to say about him and her time at his table.
Caitlin came to sit at our table and shook our hands and asked for our names. She did remember me vaguely. She thought that she had seen me before. I told her that I was at the event last year. She asked us where we were from and was impressed that we drove all that way to come to Marco. I asked her if Ashlee would ever get another man. She said no. Unfortunately that wasn't in the cards for her character. I don't remember how it was brought up but I mentioned Shayne and Ashlee and the video I did a while ago. (God this is going to sound like I was pimping myself and that I'm full of myself *sigh*) Her mouth dropped open. She had seen the video and loved it. She even showed it to Jeff B. (Shayne), who also loved it. She mentioned it to Ellen Wheeler (otherwise known as the demon lady to me). The scoop I got there was Shayne was going to be for Ashlee, but the writers changed their minds and thought he had much more potential with Dinah. *sigh* So Shaylee fans, we were close. I told her that I hated the Beth/Coop crap. Caitlin admitted that it was never supposed to be liked. I got the impression (although she didn't say it, so don't say she did!!!!) that by that time the writers had already written Coop's death in their minds. Adam, Caitlin and I walked through the buffet line together talking the entire time. She knows that the writing is bad. She said that all the actors know it, but there is nothing they can do. Caitlin also mentioned that Ashlee was never supposed to speak at Coop's funeral. In fact it was only going to be Lizzie and Beth. She called Ellen Wheeler and told her that that wasn't right. That Cooplee fans deserved more than that, so they wrote her that crappy paragraph to say. Again, my mouth jumped before I could stop it and said that it felt like a slap in the face that Ashlee didn't get a proper goodbye to Coop. I also said that Coop and Beth made me want to puke. (yeah, I really need to work on my impulse control. *laughing*) Naturally I couldn't leave it there, I also said that the fans knew that they tried that damn storyline with Blake and it didn't work for a reason. Caitlin nodded. She agrees with all of our frustrations. What this all boils down to is she knows we are/were unhappy by the way the characters were treated. She also hated that after Coop's death, Ashlee went back to being her happy self. I think she felt as betrayed as we did. So that was nice to have that validation. We talked about Doris is a Lesbian storyline. She laughed and said that that was a running joke between the actors (that Doris was a bit too manly for a man to handle her and that she got pregnant from a sperm bank), but the writers decided to actually use it, not to give Doris a story but to push the Natalia/Olivia storyline. *laughing* Everyone that's been on this journal knows I'm a Doris/Buzz fan. I told Caitlin that I was pushing for that relationship. She smiled and admitted she had been as well. Oh and they tape six weeks ahead...Ashlee still doesn't know about Doris's sexual orientation. *sigh* She also doesn't know what will be the final storyline for her character. Most of the actors have had their meetings to find out...she hasn't. Like I said I got to talk with her a lot.

So I got on the Twitter bandwagon (as if I need anymore "profiles" and "internet blogs" to keep up with, when was the last time I hopped on myspace again?) a few weeks ago because Soapfest is on there and I wanted to stay up to date on what will be happening this weekend, but I think I'm fundamentally missing something. Twitter is not interesting to me at all. It seems so lonely. Yeah you can "follow" people and they can "follow" you, but...what am I missing? My life doesn't (most days) boil down to 140 words. I'm too verbal for that. Plus I'm too lazy to type, post, type more and post again. *sigh* Someone please explain the appeal of Twitter...please...anyone, anyone...Bueller, Bueller?

Now Facebook, the other thing I have joined I understand. True I'm still getting my feet wet with the service, but I enjoy it much more. Add to that the fact that my older sisters and one brother-in-law (plus one Twinnie) are on it and it helps seal cool deal for me. While I'm still more likely to post here, I do like Facebook's user friendly set-up. I've actually reconnected with quite a few friends from *mumble* years ago on there.

Anyway - Twitter- that's my confusion for today.

In the Marco Island/Adam days off front...well we are still swimming in suck. He hasn't gotten anyone to take his shift, but I'm constantly texting him to get him to act sick. We need to set the ground work people. Wednesday and Thursday are essential to pull off this master scheme. I really should feel bad about this, but I can't get over the fact that they (the moron's at the helm) didn't give him two days off, even though he hasn't called in (like ever) or ducked out whenever they needed him at work. It just reeks of suckage. *sigh*

I got back some of my videos youtube took down. *grin* I found this video giving detailed instructions on how to fight the powers that be on Youtube. I'll still rip them from the site and post them somewhere else to ensure the audio deleting doesn't happen again. But for right now I'm basking in the glory of sticking it to "da man". Oh yeah, I just went all rebel there. *flips on "We're Not Gonna Take It" and bounces with a fist in the air*

So Adam and I have been waiting for weeks to make sure he got off the days we need him to get off so that we can go to Marco Island. He was supposed to get his schedule Thursday but it didn't come: Friday the people promised him. Friday rolled around...still no schedule. Now I'm getting worried. Everything was going so well. We got the room we wanted. The dinner with the stars is going to be at our Hotel's restaurant. We are going to be sitting with Caitlin. We got tickets to the cruise. Everything was going to plan. We were confident. Then Saturday comes and our bubble of happiness breaks. He didn't get the days off. He got Saturday and Sunday, but not Friday. The reason he wasn't approved: he didn't give enough notice. That is bullshit! He gave three weeks written notice and a month and a half of verbal notice (he told his manager). The place he works does their schedules weekly so they had the proper amount of time. *grrr* It's so upsetting and makes me hate the place he works. Right now we are formulating a plan of attack. First option: Try and switch shifts with another employee. If that fails... Option 2: he fakes illness on Wednesday, "struggles" to come to work Thursday and finally calls in Friday.  He gets sick pay, which he never uses, so he wouldn't be losing any money. The last option is the most extreme: I kidnap him. *laughing* I really hope everything works out, but if it doesn't I guess I can either go alone (which would really suck and make the entire trip depressing) or I could take my grandmother (who lives thirty-five minutes from Marco Island). Either way this is where I stand.

This weekend has sucked! How are you all doing?

So my sister (who is a teacher) called me this morning and told me to check the internet for news about a senior prank done at a high school in Orlando, FL where she lives and I used to. She gave me the name of the school (Cypress Creek High School) and I typed it into google. I expected the sites to be Orlando based. Their newspapers and news broadcasts. The first site that popped up was from the BBC. *laughing* I can just imagine the British watching the prank shaking their heads thinking that us Americans are crazy as hell. (Which I don't deny). *laughing* Anyway here is the link to the BBC article: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8014324.stm
